The mission of ARCAD:

ARCAD’s mission is to promote the usage of Ham Radio and connect with fellow Hams. Peacetime is the ideal time to widen the connectivity and be in a state of preparedness for any eventuality. This becomes helpful during the time of natural disasters like cyclones, floods, earthquakes, etc. so that the response to a given situation is immediate and adequate. With its network of Hams, ARCAD prepares you to help yourself and also to be of help to others during or in the aftermath of a disaster.

About AADM – Governing Body of the ARCAD:   Aniruddha’s Academy of Disaster Management (AADM), has for the past eighteen years, initially as a division of Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Trust and from 2005 onwards as a separate entity has been in the forefront for creating awareness about the need to manage various types of disasters, both natural and man-made, by the common citizens. Towards this end, it has trained more than 80,000 citizens in the basics of disaster management, a week-long course, absolutely free of cost and even designed a notebook on Disaster Management, which can in the event of a disaster be used as a handbook. With its vast and dedicated volunteer base, it has also been helping the local authorities in different parts of the state of Maharashtra both for prevention of disasters (crowd control) as well as in the aftermath of disasters. It’s effective handling of crowds every year during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations has drawn unqualified praise from the Government of Maharashtra, the local authorities and the police, year after year.
