Tripura to launch 9 ham radio stations for disaster management

AGARTALA: The government will set up at least nine ham radio stations (amateur radio) to facilitate people to talk across the localities and share information during times of need without internet or cell phones to strengthen disaster management infrastructure.

The officials of state disaster management authority on Friday said considering ham radio as one of the alternative communication systems in disaster management, nine such radio stations will be set up.
